Garrison Locks No 60 near Bordesley, Birmingham
Grand Union Canal, looking south-west towards Bordesley Junction. The bridge ahead carries the railway line linking Birmingham with Coventry.
Travelling south, the flight of five Garrison Locks allows a rise of 34ft 5in (10·3 metres). This is the fourth lock up (second one down) of the flight. The top lock is just out of view beyond the second bridge ahead.
The current Nicholson's Guide mapping leaves a lot to be desired on this stretch of canal, misplacing locks, and numbering bridges unreliably.
