TQ2079 : South Acton station

near to Acton, Ealing, Great Britain

South Acton station
South Acton station
Showing unit No.378 220 about to leave for Stratford. Notice that third-rail pick-up is in use here, but these 378/2 trains can also make use of the 25kV overhead supply needed from Willesden Junction onwards. The station footbridge here bears a notice stating that it not a public right of way. However, this may well not stand up in Court. It has prevented the installation of automatic ticket barriers ('Rottweilers') at this station, which would not allow the general public to use the bridge without a train ticket. A dispute about a similar issue is ongoing at Sheffield Midland station.
