"Oh bullocks! I'm gonna die before they do"
This herd of cattle north of Admiral's Farm, Ongar Hill had reluctantly moved onto the salt marsh of The Wash as I walked past them.

I'm not sure what the two blanked-off water pipes are for coming out of the sea bank but I quickly got behind them as the cattle came running up the bank towards me and only stopped a couple of yards short of the pipes. The chances are that they associated a person on the bank as time to be let into the adjacent cattle shed and crew yard for some feed, see LinkExternal link but for a few moments I had visions of being killed by a cattle stampede miles from civilization.

At this point my plans changed and instead of continuing along the sea bank to the island off the coast, see LinkExternal link I backtracked to the car park at Ongar Hill and home for a change of pants.

A few months later I came across yet another herd of cattle blocking a footpath on The Nene Way, see LinkExternal link
