A 400 year old hornbeam near one of the raised paths in Hatfield Forest.
Hatfield Forest
Hatfield Forest is a National Trust asset near Takeley, Essex. It comprises woodland, wood pasture, lake and marsh.
Once a Royal hunting forest, the grazed forest aspect is maintained today with cattle and deer.
It is a National Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
