Fern growing on a wall at Ham House
Fern growing on a wall at Ham House
The north-facing wall is shown here: TQ1773 : Wall and ha-ha at Ham House . I'm told that the fern is an Adiantum species - in other words a maidenhair fern. I hadn't recognised it as such, but then I imagine it's an indigenous species, and I had in mind the exotic species commonly grown as a house plant, which I believe is Adiantum capillus-veneris.
