The Sheppey Crossing was opened in 2006 to relieve pressure on the new Kingsferry Bridge which had been opened in 1960 - see LinkExternal link In the distance is Grain Power Station while the cranes which can just be made out on the horizon to the left of the left hand pier are at Thamesport, also on Grain.
