Class 47901 - This locomotive was renumbered from 47046 to 47601 following accident damage and used to test the engine designed for the Class 56. It was re-numbered yet again to 47901 when used to test the engine designed for the Class 58. It kept this engine until its withdrawal. It was scrapped by M.C. Metals, Glasgow in 1992.
