Y Ddol pit
This is the smaller of the two pits of Cook&Ddol Quarries. It was accessed by a level which is located about half way down pitch 2 of the Ffridd Incline. Rock from the pit was at first dealt with in the working area near the mouth of the tunnel. Later after a sawmill was built rock was uphauled along a private incline running parallel to the Ffridd Incline. By the end of the 19th century the pit had been abandoned and extraction confined to the Cook pit.
