NR8831 : An Cumhann

near to Tormore, North Ayrshire, Great Britain

An Cumhann
An Cumhann
An Cumhann (pronounced roughly 'an coo-van') seems an odd name for a land feature, because it means a strait or narrow, but it may refer to this NR8831 : Opening onto the beach near the King's Cave, a narrow chasm through which the King's Cave access path makes its was down to the shore. This is the shore just north of An Cumhann, looking down from the path. In the distance, beyond Kilbrannan Sound, is Kintyre.
