Prehistoric settlement site east of Laddies Knowe
The remains of a prehistoric defended enclosure, burial mound and a Romano-British settlement are present on the summit of a spur demonstrating a long period of use. An oval enclosure surrounds the hilltop, the double earthen rampart made by cutting into the hill slope rather than built in stone, making it just visible on aerial photographs but poorly so on the ground LinkExternal link

A later, Romano-British settlement is built against the south-west edge of the enclosure and is much easier to see NT8828 : Prehistoric Settlement at East Laddies Knowe. It is surrounded by a separate stone and earth enclosure and contains the slight remains of two hut circles.

There is a turf covered stone cairn just south of the homestead, 8m in diameter and c.1m high, interpreted as a Bronze Age Round Cairn.
