The South-facing wall of the Cook pit
This part of the pit lies east of the causeway. In the 1880s Cook and Ddol Quarries employed 26 men and produced about 630 tons of finished slate p.a. The quarries were closed in the 1930s. The pit floor was reached by a tunnel from the north.
