The Trefil Tramroad
A tramroad was constructed in 1796 in order to transport limestone from Trefil Quarries to ironworks at Beaufort and Ebbw Vale and a little later to Sirhowy.
The tramroad was converted into a narrow-gauge railway in 1908 and then subsequently to standard gauge in 1937.
