The official opening of Hyde Civic Square following a £1.2 million revamp of Hyde Market took place on Saturday. There was a program of events for the day which included songsters from the Tameside Centre for Performing Arts, music by members of Tameside Music Service, dancers, a stilt-walker and much else, starting after a brief speech from the Mayor.
