This kestrel must have been a lost pet: he was too good to be true. Not only did he let us photograph him at a distance of a few metres (on one of the concrete posts designed to stop people driving over the edge), but he posed in front of the iron hoops that aroused such curiosity in TA1625 : Hoops.
I think the latest theory is that they were part of a fence.
