Barn Adjoining Skidmore Cottages
Although this is a Grade II listed building its condition has deteriorated markedly since the 1st Geograph photo in 2006. The English Heritage Building ID: 1408481 and attendant web page: Link
mentions its importance in these words: "SUMMARY OF IMPORTANCE: The barn adjoining Skidmore Cottages is of special interest as an C18 timber framed five bay threshing barn with double cart entrance. Although some structural modifications have been made, it retains most of its timber framing and the plan-form. The barn has group value with the nearby listed Skidmore Cottages."
Perhaps if the Broadlands Estate spent less of its budget on 'Private Keep Out' signs and more on maintaining our heritage, we would be more impressed.
