Commemorates the East Yorkshire Waggoners enlisted by Sir Mark Sykes to serve in the battlefields of France and Belgium in the First World War. He recognised that the skills these men had in driving horse drawn waggons over the East Yorkshire Wolds were the skills required to get supplies to the battlefront.
