The temporary bridge that can be seen was reachable and passable the day before. This was taken at 7am on the morning that the floods reached their peak. The building that can be seen in an old people's home and is designed to withstand flooding (the ground floor is a car park). This meant that, as far as possible, the residents were left in the building and medical / caring staff were boated in to look after them.
