Old Halterburnhead
Old Halterburnhead
White Law rises above the Halter Burn valley above the ruined farm in its copse of trees. The ridge directly behind is The Swalls, defined by the steep valleys of North and South Dean. The left hand top of White Law carries the remains of an Iron Age hillfort. It is separated from the main summit by Whitelaw Nick through which passes the Border fence and the high level alternative route of the Pennine Way.
