NY7323 : On top of Murton Pike (594m)

taken 11 years ago, near to Murton, Cumbria, England

On top of Murton Pike (594m)
The abrupt summit of the pike is a superb, aerial viewpoint so unlike the nearby moorland fells just to the east. The pike's distinctive shape is a product of its geology, more akin to the Lake District across the Eden Valley. This view is south towards Roman Fell and Tinside Rigg.
