Flying the blimp for NOWAG
See TF4487 : Flying the blimp for NOWAG: the beleaguered folk from the surrounding villages, and their many supporters who have experienced similar problems, set out to demonstrate exactly how high the wind turbines here will be if the Gayton Wind Farm gets the go-ahead.
Now, at 377 feet high, it looks awesome enough from the ground, but up here I was dealing with a barrage balloon! The prospect of a further 8 permanent structures at this height (there are already 16 a couple of miles away), complete with flailing blades is worrying for pilots. The M.O.D. obviously thinks so too, because it is insisting on lights on the posts and also the blade tips. Whatever is becoming of the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside?
