SP9417 : Whistle Brook north of Ivinghoe

taken 11 years ago, near to Ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire, Great Britain

Whistle Brook north of Ivinghoe
Whistle Brook north of Ivinghoe
This brook cuts across farmland north of Ivinghoe a little to the east of Great Gap where it has powered the waterwheel at Ford End Mill LinkExternal link
The footpath up to this point was incredibly muddy (seeSP9417 : Mud, mud, glorious mud !), much of it with deep dirty puddles. A weir pretty much at the focal point of this scene has the effect of damming the stream such that it forms a little pool. See also SP9417 : Dammed stream near Great Gap
