Boarding the Teign ferry, Teignmouth
Boarding the Teign ferry, Teignmouth
Passengers board by a stout non-slip plank that is lowered from the bows. The Teign ferry is one of the oldest working passenger ferries in England.
The rowing boat on the left is a four-man gig presented by the Rotary Club to the rowing club just that morning. Among those putting it gently through its paces is the Mayor, centre, in suit, tie and mayoral chain.
