Crew members (all volunteers) check over the boat before it returns to the lifeboat house at the east end of Lifeboat Lane. The boat remains in its cradle on a tractor-hauled trailer, allowing a very speedy launch. In the background are Morgans Quay flats, built in the late 1980s on the site of the Morgan Giles boat-building yard.

Teignmouth lifeboat

This Teignmouth lifeboat is an Atlantic 85 class, the largest inshore lifeboat. Its range out to sea is 6 miles and it operates between Dawlish and Thatcher Rock at the north end of Torbay.
