Pitmire Lock
Pitmire Lock
100-200 years ago this would have been between two lock gates at Pitmire Lock, the remains of one set of lock gates can be seen in the river below the bridge that this photo was taken from. The river ceased being used as a major navigation route when the railway came and the lock was no longer maintained.
