Rood Tower
Rood Tower
The central (Rood) tower of St.Mary's Cathedral from the north-west. The tower houses the bell 'Great Tom of Lincoln', and once was topped by a wooden spire. That spire took the height to 524', but after being toppled by a storm in 1584 it was never replaced.
