Temple Mine - Matlock Bath
Temple Mine - Matlock Bath
This is a nice bit of geology. The lower brown rock is the lower Matlock lava, above it being bentonite clay (weather tuff/basalt). This basalt has a gold concentration of 35ppm, fantastic, mine it!
Some large deposits in the world are economic at 2ppm Au.

Varies in thickness, 99m at Masson hill near here.
It was a lava flow from one of the many vents in the area.
