SK2958 : Temple Mine - Matlock Bath
near to Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Temple Mine - Matlock Bath
A pillar of fluorite to the right to keep up the roof. It formed a pipe structure. I think in the space left by the dolomitisation process. When mg replaces Ca the volume of the rock is reduced creating space. This dolomitisation process probably occurred in the Permian when fluids percolated down from the shale cover.
