Swallows Wood Pool
Swallows Wood Pool
Swallows Wood is a nature reserve of about 60 acres it was created on the site of two disused reservoirs in 1987. It holds a good selection of plant and animal life in a very peaceful setting. Over the last fifteen years or so its existence has been under threat from the proposed Mottram Hollingworth bypass, at the moment the bypass is not on the list of schemes eligible for government funding but the traffic problem still persists.
