Beach and headland beyond the double dykes, Hengistbury Head
A fragile stretch of coastline east of Bournemouth on a windy winter afternoon. In the foreground on the left is a revetment protecting the Hengistbury Head nature reserve, and on the right the last of the rocky groynes before the long groyne at the headland. In the far distance is the western tip of the Isle of Wight. Compare with SZ1690 : Beach and headland beyond the double dykes, Hengistbury Head.
