This is the view looking south from the bank of the henge at Avebury. This crop circle is in a field of ripe wheat on the northern end of Waden Hill, and a large number of tourists are taking the opportunity to visit. Avebury is famed for "alternative" things such as crop circles, UFO sightings and so on. I don't know the origin of this particular "phenomenon", although lots of German tourists kept quizzing me about it.
