Bolton Steam Museum
Bolton Steam Museum
The Northern Mill Engine Society was founded in 1966 to save some of the stationary steam engines used in the mills of Lancashire. Its first Museum was demolished and replaced by a Morrisons supermarket. However Morrisons helped the Society to relocate into this nearby building. This was the former cotton store of Atlas Mills and is a fitting location. The little building on the end is the Society's new boiler house and the first public steamings are planned for the late May and August Bank Holidays 2007.
