Parts of the South Wales Valleys are often still pretty scenic. Here I am a stone's throw from Cwmtillery and Abertillery, in a landscape that has been mined and quarried, built upon, dammed and flooded, deforested and partly re-forested and which still retains some residual beauty, even on a grey November morning.
