SH5660 : The causeway across the Cook pit from the top of the cutting

taken 11 years ago, near to Llanberis, Gwynedd, Great Britain

The causeway across the Cook pit from the top of the cutting
The causeway across the Cook pit from the top of the cutting
This cutting is located immediately south of the steam mill and it, and the causeway beyond, were created so that the Cook Quarry, like Y Ddol, could be linked to the Ffridd Incline. It is not easy to work out how the hand pushed wagons got from the far end of the causeway to the pit edge above. Even, hand pushed wagons can not negotiate a zig-zag path.
