London Victoria station: memorial to the Unknown Warrior
London Victoria station: memorial to the Unknown Warrior
The body of the Unknown Warrior rested at Victoria Station the night before it was interred in Westminster Abbey in 1920. This plaque, between platforms 8 and 9, marks the location of the train. Every November the plaque is decorated with poppies, and on the evening of November 10th, the night the body was here, there is a short ceremony of remembrance at this spot.
