Muddy bridleway near Findon Park Farm
Muddy bridleway near Findon Park Farm
From the car park at Cissbury LinkExternal link a bridleway leads north, soon crossing the Monarch's Way. It then bears NNE, towards TQ1309 : A junction of ways . This shot was taken from perhaps 150m short of that junction (where the map gives a spot-height of 146m).

The bridleway is very muddy, and partly flooded, following a long wet spell in the autumn of 2012 - and very heavy rain in recent days. For all that, the going wasn't that heavy - the soil here is very chalky, so that the 'mud' doesn't clog your boots as it would in a clay area.
