Farrago, 6 Wilton Road, Hornsea
This notable Hornsea house is difficult to photograph as it is set well back from the road behind dense foliage. Pevsner says "..designed and built in 1906-8, by David Reynard Robinson, a Hull builder, for himself. Constructed using a bolted steel frame, with brick walls and mass-concrete floors, it is clad inside and out in a most unconventional way with ornamental and pictorial bricks and tile and other building materials. It is impossible to describe succinctly." For picture of a tiling fragment see TA2047 : Farrago, 6 Wilton Road, Hornsea - Tiling Fragment and also TA2047 : Farrago, 6 Wilton Road, Hornsea - Exterior Detail for a close-up of a false window at the rear of the building.
