Lanchester Valley Railway Path
Lanchester Valley Railway Path
The Lanchester Valley Railway Path (part of National Cycle Network route 14) follows the line of the old railway from Durham to Lydgetts Junction. On the left is one of the National Cycle Network milestones donated to the project by the Royal Bank of Scotland. This specimen is one of the "Welsh" design by Andrew Rowe, and takes its inspiration from the industrial and nautical heritage of the artist's home in Swansea. An alternative explanation is that it is derived from a Welsh love-spoon.
