NZ0539 : Park Wall times two

taken 11 years ago, 3 km from Wolsingham, County Durham, Great Britain

Park Wall times two
Park Wall times two
The Park Wall can be seen in the left middle distance and is part of the impressive perimeter wall, 15 Km long (now partly replaced by a fence) which encircles Wolsingham Park Moor. The Moor (beyond and to the left of the wall in this photo) was for many centuries an extra-parochial territory which formed part of the hunting grounds of the Prince-Bishops of Durham.

The abandoned buildings in the vicinity are also known as Park Wall.
