On this occasion because it is the screen for the sound and light display called Plenum, devised by Simeon Nelson, Rod Goodman and Nick Rothwell. As advertised, the 15-minute cycles progress from a state of absolute order (as seen here) to one of complete chaos. As seen, circular wavefronts propagate out, and extra spots appear in the lattice and disturb their neighbours. The display has previously featured at the Durham Lumière festival and ran for two days in Cambridge. 2 second exposure, my first tripod shot on Geograph!
