The Memorial Well at Achurch
The Memorial Well at Achurch
This well with wooden covers has an ashlar drinking trough and plinth all covered by a wooden well head with tiled roof. The well head is decorated with Gothic tracery and angels, and an inscription under the eaves reads: "In Memory of Thomas Atherton Powys MDCCCLXXXII". The whole is Grade II listed. The Powys family were owners of nearby Lilford Hall.
