Poldark Mine - steam engines
Poldark Mine - steam engines
This is a row of preserved engines from around the country. Nearest the photographer is a now rare Belliss & Morcom inverted vertical (enclosed) triple expansion engine. This was used at Newton Abbot Power Station and is also rare as a reciprocating engine from the power industry. Beyond this is a bed that has had all sorts dumped on it but was obviously once the bed of another steam engine. I think this was probably the Ashworth & Parker lighting set from Kempton Park Pumping Station. I do not know where this has gone.
Beyond is a large weir pump and in the distance are a Reader driving a compressor and a Belliss & Morcom driving an asphalt pump.
