Lydd-on-Sea, Battery Road, The Pilot Inn
Lydd-on-Sea, Battery Road, The Pilot Inn, interior.
The Pilot public house gave its name to the station, Pilot Halt, which for a short time in 1928, acted as the terminus before Dungeness became fully operational. It originally featured a building that, after the war, was used for staff accommodation. A shelter similar to that at Lade Halt was built in 1968 but this has recently been pulled-down. In its early days, The Pilot used to feature a "fish siding".
