Turbulence, River Avon in spate, 23 November 2012
Turbulence, River Avon in spate, 23 November 2012
Between two weirs this reach of the Avon is normally almost motionless. In spate it moves fast (away from the camera here) and with unaccustomed noise. The sudden turbulence here just below Charter Bridge must be caused by some step or other feature of the river bed. Beyond the green grass of St Nicholas Park is Warwick Castle, looking its best in morning sun in SP2864.
