Flood bank by the River Avon, Warwick
Flood bank by the River Avon, Warwick
When the allotments or smallholdings called Emscote Gardens were developed as a residential estate in the 1960s, this flood bank was formed to protect it from the River Avon. However if the river rose high enough the water might get round the bank at the southwest end. It was thickly planted with trees following a tragic accident in which a child on a bike drowned after losing control on the slope.
