Comet was for many years one of the UK's leading electrical retailers. Unfortunately various adverse factors forced the company into administration in early November 2012. The administrators have put the remaining stock on sale with varying discounts. This store had posters outside announcing it will close. Some others have either closed or been announced as closing, but the fate of others seems undecided. This branch still had a lot of stock on sale, when visited on a gloomy and very wet Saturday afternoon.
