Pony on Beaulieu Heath East with Crabhat Inclosure behind, New Forest
Beaulieu Heath is a very flat area of heathland, the word East is usually appended to distinguish it from the Beaulieu Heath on the western side of the river. Crabhat Inclosure has a strange name, but is probably something to do with crab types of tree and the term "hat" which is the same as a "holm" i.e. an isolated, roughly circular, clump of trees.
