Footpath heading towards Whorlton
According to large scale mapping the stream seen here is a very minor affair 'issuing' from the ground close to the footpath and running directly down the steep slope below to the right, to enter the River Tees. At the time the photograph was taken however when the land was already saturated and following another spell of heavy rain the stream had cut a fresh course along the footpath for some distance before taking the plunge down-slope.
