Carrock Fell Mine - Vein
Carrock Fell Mine - Vein
View at the end of the Smith vein which wasn't developed any further. The quartz vein is part of the Greisen mineralisation system. Fluids originating from the late stage cooling of the granite nearby precipitated in N-S trending faults. Forming quartz, tungsten-arsenic veins. These were mined until 1981.
This scene here shows the small vein in the Carrock Fell gabbro.
