Railway cutting and overbridge
Railway cutting and overbridge
That is at least how it is shown on the 1975 Landranger, the photographer's position is where the bridge would have been. The line was a spur linking the Nottingham to Grantham line with the Newark to Melton Mowbray line, and provided an outlet for the ironstone from the wolds which can be seen in the distance.
