Flood Relief Channel
Flood Relief Channel
Opposite is the old road into Barford and the photographer is standing on the new A429 Barford bypass. After an extended period of heavy rain, the River Avon has overflowed across the flood plain, and covered the surrounding fields.
For a photo of the relief channel in normal conditions, and an explanation of it's function see SP2661 : Flood Relief Channel.
